Governor WIKE promises to complete NBA law centre in six months

The Rivers State Governor NYSOM WIKE has assured that the new ultra modern law centre for the Nigeria Bar Association NBA will be ready for use by August this year when Rivers State is expected to host the Annual General Meeting AGM of the NBA.

Governor NYESOM WIKE at the ground breaking ceremony of the law centre for the NBA in Port Harcourt said he has already released two hundred million naira out of the four hundred and ninety eight million naira needed for the project.

The Governor said the construction of the new ultra modern law centre for the Nigeria Bar Association NBA Port Harcourt is to enhance the administration of justice in the State.

In her welcome speech, the NBA Chairman, Port Harcourt branch DENNIS OKWAKPAM said the construction of the NBA law centre will help stabilize the judiciary in Rivers State.

In his speech, the Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State Justice IYAYI LAMIKANRA said the ultra modern law centre will aid the protection of human rights of people of Rivers State.

Governor NYESOM WIKE also presented the certificate of occupancy C-of-O to the leadership of the NBA at the event that was attended by eminent jurists, past and present national leaders of the NBA and State Commissioners.

The Nigeria Bar Association says the Rivers State Governor NYESOM WIKE by his action has imbibed the values of the Niger Bar Association.

The President of the Nigeria Bar Association and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria AUGUSTINE ALEGEH said this at the ground breaking ceremony of the NBA law centre in Port Harcourt.

AUGUSTINE ALEGEH also said the NBA is proud to be associates with Governor WIKE.

The NBA Chairman AUGUSTINE ALEGEH also said several initiative of Governor WIKE for the judiciary sector in Rivers State ought to occupy front burners on the national stage.
