VICE President Yemi Osinbajo and renowned gospel singer, Don Moen, are expected to lead other dignitaries and men of God at the maiden cross campaign to celebrate the end of the 40 days Christian fasting period with the wearing of the cross emblem.
Osinbajo, who will be the Special Guest of Honour, is expected to deliver a goodwill message to Nigerians on unity of purpose and moral values in the society.
Rev. Yomi Kasali, founder/overseer of Foundation of Truth Ministry, the convener of the event, disclosed this at a media briefing on the programme slated for March 27-29, noting that the event will be kicked off by a cross concert to be staged at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere from 5.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.
The event aimed at providing conscious awareness on the essence of the Cross to Christendom, with the #I Love The Cross, will be attended by other ministers of God such as Pastor Wale Adenuga, Cobhams Asuquo, Glowreeyah Braimah among others to celebrate Jesus Christ who laid down his life for the salvation of souls.
Kasali explained that there was the need to lay emphasis on the use of the cross because many Christians of today do not know the actual meaning of the cross and what it symbolizes to Christendom.
On March 29, over one million people, according to the man of God, are expected to wear and display an emblem of “The Cross”, (brooch, lapel, pendants) among others, in markets, work places, schools, homes and on the streets in the spirit of Easter celebration.
“The burden I have is to reawaken the essential of our faith by the use of emblem of the cross. The cross to me is a brand identity of the Christian faith, unifying symbol of the kingdom that reveals the redemptive purpose and power of God to humanity,” Kasali stated.
