Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning:

1. The Federal Government has asked the Electricity Distribution Companies, DISCOs, in the country to with immediate effect supply pre-paid metres to consumers. The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, gave the order at the end of his third monthly meeting with operators in the power sector at the Ugwuaji Transmission Station, Enugu, yesterday.

2. Report says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has claimed it has uncovered an evidence that showed how prominent politicians, mostly from the PDP, allegedly shared N3.145billion in the build up to the last presidential elections. Some of those pointed are a former Aviation Minister and Director of Media for the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign organization, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and leader of the Social Democratic Party, Chief Olu Falae; a former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman; former Imo State governor, Achike Udenwa; former minister of state for foreign affairs, Viola Onwuliri and Okey Ezenwa.
3. The Enugu State Government has informed the public over the activities of fraudsters, who have now hacked and cloned the Facebook account of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the State. Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Uwakwe Abugu, while disclosing this in Enugu on Monday said the general public should take note of the fraudulent act and stop transacting business with the unknown hackers.

4. An Abuja High Court sitting in Jabi has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Nigerian Army to immediately release Col. Nicholas Ashinze, a former aide to the erstwhile National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) on self-recognition, saying his detention for over three months without trial, was illegal, wrongful, unlawful.

5. The Federal Government has disclosed that about N3.3tn were not remitted by various Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government as well as foreign missions in the 2014 fiscal year. This was contained in the 2014 Annual Audit Report presented to the National Assembly on Monday by the office of the Auditor General of the Federation.
The document further revealed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation did not remit N3,234, 577,666,791.35 to the Federation Account Allocation Committee in 2014.

6. Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB and Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, have accused the police in Anambra State command of secretly killing about 20 of its members. The Regional Administrator, Anambra West, Mr. Wilfred Aninze, while raising the allegation in Onitsha said that most of the members killed were those caught with Biafra insignia and motorcycle plate numbers.
7. The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday sacked the General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, Olushola Adeigbe. This follows last week’s collapse of a five-storeyed building in Lekki, Lagos. Also dismissed was the Head of Inspection and Quality Control of the agency, Adeoye Adeyemi and the Zonal District Officer of the agency, Dosunmu Gbadebo.

8. The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has reiterated that he stands by his rankings of monarchs in Yorubaland. Gbadebo said the rankings were based on a government gazette and not a newspaper publication, as claimed by the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.

9. The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has disclosed that one of his major responsibilities to the state was to probe the immediate past administration of Governor Gabriel Suswam, stating that he was voted in as Governor to correct some of the ills of the past.

10. Report has claimed that an ex-soldier, one Sunday Umaru, has been arrested by the Plateau State Police Command for killing his girlfriend after seeing text messages on her phone. Sunday reportedly stabbed his lover, Charity Thomas, in the stomach in the Riyom Local Government Area, resulting to her death. The suspect was paraded on Monday after being dismissed from the Army.
