Instagram’s New Change Will Majorly Switch Up Your Feed

Instagram’s pulling a major Facebook (and Twitter) move that will make a huge change to your IG feed as you know it.

The company has announced that it will introduce a new algorithm that will alter the order of posts you see on your feed.

Basically, instead of a chronological order in your feed, with the most recent posts at the top, Instagram will prioritize what they think you want to see the most.

Similar to what Facebook and Twitter are doing now, the app will order photos and videos in your feed “based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting, and the timeliness of the post.”

Did you go to bed before The Bachelor finale? No worries.

You can wake up and see posts at the top of your feed that you’re most interested in, like your friends’ Bachelor watch parties, instead of scrolling all the way back to see what happened a few hours before.

According to Instagram, on average people miss 70 percent of their feeds, which is a ton of content.

None of use deserve to miss a shirtless Zac Efron pic. That’s tragic.

Rather than risk missing out on some great content, this new change will make sure the best posts don’t get buried in your feed.

The social media site says the algorithm change is being rolled out “in the coming months.”

But a change is coming, people.
