A Peoples Democratic Party PDP Chieftain in Rivers State and the Chairman Caretaker Committee CTC of Ikwerre Local Government, Nwanosike Samuel has labeled the former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rt.Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a ”chronic liar”.
Nwanosike Samuel during a campaign rally in communities in the council area said the former governor lied that he facilitated his released from prison when he was arrested by security operatives.
The PDP Chieftain said that Amaechi lied on a live radio programme in Port Harcourt when the former governor said that he facilitated his release from prison when he was arrested by DSS. The PDP Chieftain stated categorically that he has never been arrested by the Police, DSS or any security operatives before in his life.
He said that the actions of the Minister of Transportation has vindicated the claims by the PDP that Amaechi is a chronic lair. The CTC Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government also alleged that Rotimi Amaechi is arming the youths in the area with weapons ahead of the March 19 re-run National and State Assembly elections in the State.
Nwanosike stated that the rate of kidnapping in the area has increased because of the high level of arms in the hands of the youths.
On the forthcoming re-run elections in Rivers State, Nwanosike Samuel stated that the people of Ikwerre Local Government area have rejected Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and his APC cohorts. The CTC Chairman said that the APC has brought so much hard ship on the people because the party was a party based on lies and deceit.
He boasted that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP presented the best candidates for the March 19 re-run elections in the State and therefore deserved to be re-elected to their various legislatives houses on Saturday.
Samuel Nwanosike also said that the PDP will resist any attempt by the APC to rig the forthcoming election. According to him, the presence of the Military, Police and Air force will not scare members of the PDP and their supporters. He however, called on the people of the area to come out en masse to do a referendum on the APC by voting all the candidates of PDP at the polls.
Also speaking at the rally, the Rivers State Commissioner for Housing Barr Emma Okah said that the APC has no structure in Ikwerre Local Government Area.
He said that APC candidates are scared of competing with the PDP at the polls and that is why they are depending on the so called federal might to intimidate their opponents and supporters.
Emma Okah during the rally, said the Military will not intimidate anybody on March 19. He described the Military personnel’s as well trained soldiers that respects the civility of democracy.
Okah stated that the military presence is for the security of all in the State. He also charged the people of the council to vote massively for the candidates of PDP at the polls.
In his address, the campaign director of PDP in Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon.Ken Ezihuo while presenting the candidates of PDP in the March 19 elections described the candidates of PDP as agents of development and promised that the candidates will deliver dividends of democracy if re-elected into their various legislative houses.
The three candidates of the party are Senator George Sekibo for Rivers East Senatorial District, Boniface Emerengwa for Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency and Anselem Oguguo for Ikwerre Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly.
