BREAKING: Rivers State commissioner, Ibibia Walter freed by kidnappers

Ibibia Walter, Commissioner of Water Resources of Rivers State who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Saturday, the day of the rerun elections in the state has been freed by his abductors.

Walter is also the scribe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Walter regained his freedom in the early hours of Sunday.

He was rescued by a police team after establishing communication with the team immediately he was released by the kidnappers.

There is jubilation in Walter’s family over the commissioner’s safe return.

Walter was abducted after his vehicle was ambushed as he was on his way to Okrika to vote in the rerun elections.

His assailants, who were masked, whisked him away to an undisclosed location, preventing the PDP chieftain from casting his vote in the election.
