The Independent National Electoral Commission has released results of one Federal Constituency and nine State Constituencies in Saturday’s rerun election in Rivers State, Southern Nigeria.
In the results announced by the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (DPD), Betty Apiafi, won in Abua/Odual/Ahoada East Federal Constituency.
The PDP also recorded victory in other nine state constituencies’ results declared by the INEC.
In Aholda East 1, the candidate of the PDP, Martyns Manah, polled 6,654 votes to win the election while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Apia Chinedu, got 2,077 votes.
The PDP’s candidate, Ehie Edison, won in Ahoada East I, polling 3,417 votes while the APC’s candidate, Ibiso Nwobuiyeuma, polled 1,429 votes.
Other results from other constituencies – Akuku Toru 1, Emohua, Obio/Akpor I, Obio/Akpor II, Onelga I, and Opobo/Nkoro – were cleared by the PDP.
The INEC had suspended all action on the election on Sunday night, saying it would wait until it receives reports from its officials in the field.
