Leicester City will play in Europe next season, no matter how their season ends.
This follows their defeat of Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. They won 2:0, thanks a Jamie Vardy brace. The club is now on 72 points.
This means they cannot finish lower than fifth place, which guarantees them a spot in the group stage of the Europa League.
Leicester last played in Europe in the 2000/2001 UEFA Cup, when they were knocked out 4-2 on aggregate by Red Star Belgrade.
Should they go on and be crowned Premier League champions, they will be seeded in next season’s Champions League group stage draw, along with the champions of Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Russia and the title holders.
