Police officers of various ranks have been sanctioned for misconduct after several complaints from the public were received by the police Complaint Response Unit, Punch reported.
20 police officers from different ranks across the country were sanctioned after going through disciplinary procedures.
CSP Abayomi Shogunle, disclosed that it was through complaints from the public that made them review the police officers.
However, according to Shogunle, recommendations have been made to the Inspector General of Police about how to go about further to check misconduct amongst police.
The public has been urged to report any misconduct by policemen through the unit.
