The House of Representatives has officially addressed the latest controversy surrounding the 2016 budget by expressing its willingness to re-examine the document.
This was disclosed by the Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara after the members had an executive session on Wednesday.
He stated that the lower chamber is ready “to re-examine the 2016 budget in view of the prevailing circumstances in Nigeria.”
The Senate had on Tuesday, expressed readiness to honour President Muhammadu Buhari’s wish to have the Lagos-Calabar rail project, which was allegedly left out in the original budget,
It asked the Executive arm of government to submit a supplementary appropriation bill to the effect.
