Game of Thrones showrunners have officially confirmed a much-loved character is dead.
Despite all the talk about Jon Snow’s mortality there are some viewers who are still caught up on the off-screen death of Syrio Forel, played by Miltos Yerolemou.
Syrio taught Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark how to use a sword, before eventually getting the young Stark to be deadly with her very own weapon, ‘Needle’.
When talking about the character Williams, revealed to IGN that he still ‘feels’ alive.
She said: “I always was like, ‘Oh, no, I feel like he’s still alive’.
“I always had my own theory that he and Jaqen were the same person.”
Despite her brilliant theory, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have shutdown the idea, telling the actress: “No, he is dead.”
After having her ‘dream’ crushed, she continued: “I was like, ‘Oh, OK.’ So that put that to bed really quickly, but I guess we can all still dream.
“Maybe if it’s not in the show, it will be in the book, and that will be great.”
Game of Thrones series six returns on April 24 on HBO in the US and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am UK time.
It will also air on April 25 on Sky Atlantic
