APC Crisis: Court reserves ruling on 4th Feb

The Court of Appeal Sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to 4th of February for ruling on the Stay of Execution proceedings in the case between the All Progressives Congress APC in Rivers State and Senator Magnus Abe-led faction of APC.

The three-man Appeal Court panel led by Justice A.A.GUMEL adjourned the matter after entertaining arguments from the lawyers of the two parties.

Justice A.A.GUMEL also adjourned three other appeals including the order of injunction and stay of execution in the case between APC and INEC to the 5th of February, 2019 for hearing of the motion.

Speaking outside the court, the lawyer to Magnus Abe-led faction of APC, HENRY BELLO, said the court entertained five appeals while a ruling will be delivered on one of them on 4th Feb.

The lawyer to Ojukaye Flag Amachree led APC WISDOM JEROME explained that hearing of the motions will take place on 5th Feb.

The Court of Appeal also the panel struck out another appeal filed by Tonye Cole after his lawyer WISDOM JEROME described the case as miscellaneous.

In the meantime, The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to 5th of February over the Stay of Execution appeal filed by APC against PDP over the judgment of the Federal High Court barring the APC from fielding any candidates for the 2019 general elections.

The three-man panel led by Justice A.A.GUMEL adjourned the case after the lawyer to the PAC failed to regularize the filling of the case.

The lawyer for the PDP in Rivers State, DIKE UDENNA said his clients have filed two affidavits to counter the applications of the APC for the stay of Execution.
