The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the judgement of the Rivers State National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal that declared Distinguished Senator Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo DSSRS of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Winner of the Rivers West Senatorial District Election held on February,2023.

The Appellant Court, in her ruling, dismissed the Appeal filed by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate ,Hon. Asita O. Asita as “Lacking in Merit.”
In her reaction, shortly after the verdict at the Court premises, the Distinguished Senator Dr. Banigo hailed the judgement describing it as an ” incontrovertible Victory of irreversible Senate Seat ” .
She expressed gratitude to the Almighty God, the Leaders/ Stakeholders of the PDP and the entire members of her Constituent in the Rivers West Senatorial District for their unflinching support .
Senator Banigo assured them of her loyalty and total commitment towards realizing the tenet of her Kingdom Mandate.
