Nigerian Army arrests two soldiers for unprofessional conduct

The Nigeria Army Six Division says it has arrested two soldiers in a viral video seen assaulting a civilian in Rivers State.

The Nigeria Army Six Division Port Harcourt in a statement signed by the Acting Deputy Director 6 Division Army Public Relations Lieutenant Colonel DANJUMA JONAH DANJUMA, said the Nigerian Army remains a professional force that conducts its activities in adherence to established rules of engagement and respect for the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.

The statement stated that the Army would not condone any form of infraction from any military personnel.

The statement noted that the General Officer Commanding GOC, 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Jamal Abdussalam has directed a full-scale investigation into the matter.

The Nigerian Army further reassured that no stone will be left unturned to sanction those involved in the unprofessional act.

The statement also asked the public to continue to provide credible information on such unprofessional conduct of military personnel as the Division is poised to be more responsive to the public.
