RSG directs all commercial drivers to paint their vehicles before August

The Rivers State Government directed that all commercial vehicles be painted by August 2024.

The Commissioner for Transport in Rivers State Collins Onunwo said the move is to enhance transportation safety and security as well as improve the overall infrastructure and organization of the transportation sector in Rivers State

The Commissioner for Transport, Collins Onunwo made this known during a stakeholder meeting with the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW in Port Harcourt.

He stated that the government will design specific points across the state where the painting process can occur.

Collins Onunwo also told the NURTW that the government will not tolerate the presence of tricycle operators popularly known as Keke on Truck A and B roads within the next two weeks.

He has directed the Coordinator of Keke in Rivers State, Frank Nnadi to inform its members of the latest government directive.

He said that any individual who disobeys the order will face the law.

The Commissioner also directed park owners to come forward and register their parks, as the government will not tolerate the unauthorized operation of these facilities in the state
