Gunmen kill four Naval personnel, abduct three expatriates

Unidentified gunmen have attacked a foreign vessel MV AMBIKA working for a Sterling oil firm in Agge community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State killing Four Naval Personnel and abducting two Russian and one Indian national

A source, told our correspondent that the unknown gunmen attacked Sterling Global Dredger over the weekend after a heavy gun battle with security personnel which lasted for four hours.

The security personnel were reported to be on escort patrol before the bloody attack on the vessel.

A security source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the incident took place at a creek sharing boundary with Bayelsa and Delta states. 

An indigene of Agge community, however, claimed that the incident occurred close to the area they referred to as Bilabiri Ocean also in Ekeremor Local Council Area.

It was gathered that the attack has provoked an emergency joint Military operation in the area for the arrest of the perpetrators and to rescue the three foreign nationals abducted.
