Players Union Commend Abia Warriors on Charles Tambe

The National Association of Nigerian Professional Footballers ( NANPF), has commended the efforts of the Management of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia for the timely support it gave to rescue goalkeeper Charles Tambe when he was shot by hoodlums in Ibadan on Friday.

In a statement, released by the Communications department of NANPF, the union was glad that the player who has been responding to treatment, is also in a stable condition, and commended the management of the Abia Warriors for its timely response and support for the player, saying that such is unprecedented in Nigeria football

” We must commend the management of Abia Warriors FC for their moral and financial support to the player. Their response was timely and immediate, which no doubt went a long to lift the spirit of the player”.

Meanwhile, the Management of the Umuahia warlords has expressed her sincere appreciation to all football stakeholders for their unprecedented support towards ensuring that the life of Charles Tambe is saved.

According to the Sporting Director of Club Patrick Ngwaogu, the player is still receiving the best treatments at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan

“The doctors are giving him the best of treatment and observing him closing to ensure that he is in a perfect condition before discharging him to reunite with his family members.

“They have confirmed that there are no broken bones from the bullet wounds”

” Our appreciations go to all football stakeholders for their concern on the player” Ngwaogu concluded.
