Court orders MOSOP to conduct fresh election

A High Court sitting in  Port Harcourt has ordered that LEGBORSI PYGBARA is not entitled to elongate or seek re-election after serving his tenure as the President of the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People MOSOP.

Justice C.D.GREEN while delivering Judgment in a suit filed by B.B.MAXWELL against LEGBORSI PYGBARA, FEGALO NSUKE AND BARINALA KPALAB upheld the suspension of  LEGBORSI PYGBARA by the Central Committee on November 3rd, 2018.

The court also ruled that all actions or decisions taken by LEGBORSI PYGBARA after November 3rd, 2018 is null and void.

The Court also issued a perpetual injunction restraining, LEGBORSI PYGBARA, FEGALO NSUKE AND BARINALA KPALAB or their agents from parading themselves as MOSOP Presidents.

The court, however, directed the Electoral Committee set up by the Central Committee to conduct valid elections into the offices of the Executive Committee of MOSOP.
