The Action Democratic Party ADP says it will participate in the forthcoming Local Government elections in Rivers State.

The Local Government Elections is scheduled to hold on Saturday 17th April 2021 in all the 23 local governments of Rivers State.

According to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission RSIEC, councilors, local government chairman and the vice-chairman will be elected during the 2021 local government elections in the state.

Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, the State Chairman of Action Democratic Party ADP Kendricks Christian said the party will produce candidates for the elections.

Kendricks Christian said the ADP wants to provide dividends of democracy to the grassroots in the state.

He boasted that ADP is the only alternative to PDP and APC in the state.

”Our party the ADP will be contesting in this year’s LG election in Rivers State. It’s an opportunity for us to sell ourselves and an opportunity for us to test our popularity. We are ready to contest and we’re certain that victory will be ours. Especially in this case where the APC and the PDP are struggling to find themselves on the ballot due to issues bothering on-court litigations and Party related issues. So we have to take the advantage and Prove to Rivers people that indeed the ADP is a credible alternative ” he said.

Kendricks Christian also frowned at the recent 500 million naira donation of Rivers State Governor to the victims of market fire in Sokoto State.

He said the 500 million naira would have been used to settle the arrears of pensioners and bursaries of Rivers State students across different institutions of higher learning.

The ADP Chairman in Rivers State added that he was fed up with the reckless and inappropriate spending of public funds by Governor Nyesom Wike.
