Police arraigned lawyer to court over destruction of properties

The Rivers State Police Command has arraigned a Port Harcourt-based legal Practitioner, NNAMDI OFOEGBU, and one SOPURUCHI EPELE at a Magistrate Court over the destruction of properties worth millions in a Community in Igbo-Etche Kingdom in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers.

 

NNAMDI OFOEGBU, SOPURUCHI EPELE, and others now at large are alleged to have conspired and destroyed buildings and other properties belonging to the family members of Umuekwune in Igboagwuasa clan in the Igbo-Etche Kingdom.

 

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail by Chief Magistrate, A.O AMADI-NNA in the sum of two million naira with a surety who must have a landed property within the magisterial district.

 

The Chief Magistrate AMADI-NNA ordered that the two accused should be remanded in Port Harcourt Correctional Centre pending the perfection of their bail conditions.
