UGM kill 13 Police officers in Rivers and Akwa Ibom

Unknown gunmen UGM have attacked a police station at Rumuji Community, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It was gathered that a police officer was beheaded during the attack while another was shot dead, and an operational vehicle burnt.

This comes after governor Nyesom Wike imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on the 23 local government areas.

They also attacked a C4i checkpoint along the East-West road before Choba Bridge, killing two officers on duty.

Meanwhile, another set of gunmen attacked the Elimgbu police station in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, where one ASP and two inspectors were killed.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the state command did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment.

In a related development, gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, on Saturday launched another attack on Odoro Ikpe Police Station, in Ini LGA of Akwa Ibom State, killing six officers on duty.

It was gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Saturday when people were still sleeping.
