Eid-el-Fitr: Muslim leaders call for unity in Nigeria

As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Fitr all over the world, the Vice Presidents General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, in Rivers State, NASIRU OHOR has called on Muslim faithful not to relent in praying for the leadership of the country especially now that the country is experiencing security challenges.

NASIRU OHOR said this in his Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslims at the Rivers State Central Mosque prayer ground in the old Port Harcourt township.

NASIRU OHOR who is also the state Muslim leader while expressing worry over the state of insecurity affecting the country called on the Government at all levels to use the resources at their disposal to embark on policies and programs to promote peace and unity of the Nation.

The Secretary-General of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, ARIBITONYE OKIRI, who also doubled as the Special Adviser to the Governor on School Sports in a chat with journalists called on Muslim faithful to pray for the unity, peace, and progress of the country to enhance more economy to the country.

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam of the Rivers State Central Mosque, MALIK YAHAYA in his Eid-el-Fitr speech called on Muslims across the country to as well pray for more protections for Muslim leaders in the country.
