We’ll fight crime to a standstill in Rivers State-Fubara

Rivers State Governor Siminialayi Fubara says his administration will fight crime to a standstill in Rivers State

Governor SIMINIALAYE FUBARA represented by the Deputy Governor, Professor Ngozi Odu said this in Port-Harcourt ahead of the flag-off of Rivers State zero crime initiative which is an initiative of the State Commissioner of Police NWONYI POLICAP EMEKA.

The Deputy Governor said the initiative is timely as the Ember Month draws closer and called for synergy among security agencies and the public to curb crime and criminality in the state.

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State also said that the administration of Siminialayi Fubara will consolidate on the achievements recorded by the immediate Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike in providing adequate security in the state.

She further tasked Rivers people to embrace the initiative to end Youth restiveness in the state.

In the meantime, the Rivers State Police command says the command will create security clubs in all the secondary schools across the state as part of ways to fight crime and criminality in the state.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State EMEKA POLICAP said this during a press conference ahead of the launch of Rivers Zero Crime Initiative.

CP EMEKA POLICAP further said that the security clubs have become necessary to enable youths and students to shun all forms of criminality in the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, NWONYI POLICAP EMEKA, however, said that the Rivers Zero Crime Initiative will revive the economic and tourism potential of the state..

Meanwhile, some residents in Rivers State have continued to commend the Rivers Zero Crime Initiative by the Police.

Some of the residents who spoke to our correspondent said the initiative will curb crime and criminality in the state.

They urged the Police to sustain the initiative to enable a crime-free state.
