The Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC has trained hundreds of its personnel on strategic Capacity Building Conflict Management and Peace Building.
The one-day capacity building facilitated by NDDC in partnership with the Peace and Development Projects (PEDEP), was to equip personnel of the commission with the best knowledge to ensure Sustainable Community Development and to de-escalate conflict in their areas of jurisdiction.
The NDDC Chairman, SAMUEL OGBUKU, represented by the Director of Admin and Human Resources, PATRICK EKADE while speaking during the training noted that the capacity building will bring peace and tranquility to Niger Delta communities
On his part, the Acting Director, of the Conflict and Dispute Resolution Department, AYEWUMI GODDY, said the capacity training has started yielding positive results as the commission now has desk officers in the nine States under the jurisdiction of NDDC.
The Director of PEDEP, FRANCIS ABAYOMI, said the training will ensure harmony between NDDC staff and communities in the region.
