Governor Siminialayi Fubara has released 315 million naira for the Port Harcourt Water Project.

The Media Office of Port Harcourt Water Corporation made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt.

The statement said that the release of the fund is geared towards cushioning the project’s effect on the affected residents.

The statement noted that the commencement of payment of the counterpart fund by the State Government has elicited excitement from the African Development Bank and other partners including the Federal Ministry of Finance, and the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

The Port Harcourt Water Corporation in the statement noted that the bank has made all outstanding approvals to effectively complete this all-important project.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Water Corporation, who is also the Project Director, Ibibia Walter, commended the State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his prompt approval of funds for the Water Project.
