Kevin Hart may be giving up his stand-up comedy career, but that’s okay because the funny man has much bigger aspirations.
Hart tells me that he is pretty confidant he will host the Oscars one day.
“I think in time it will come,” Hart, 36, told me at CinemaCon when I asked about the possibility of following in the footsteps of Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Hugh Jackman, Billy Crystal and more.
“I think when it comes, it will be right. I’m definitely not turning my nose up to the opportunity.
“I think it’s a stage and I think as a comedian it’s something that you want to say you did in your career,” he continued.
“So when I do, trust me I will make my presence felt. And I think once again, the timing will be right. I’m not in a rush, I’m not going anywhere.”
Just a few days ago, Hart co-hosted the MTV Movie Awards with his Central Intelligence co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Perhaps that was one of Hart’s Oscars auditions?
“We know eventually it’s going to happen,” Hart said. “I’m just being patient about it, that’s all.”
He’ll will next be seen his stand-up comedy tour flick Kevin Hart: What Now? andCentral Intelligence and as a voice in animated The Secret Life of Pets.
