Embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has just arrived the Federal High Court for continuation of his ongoing trial.

Kanu who is standing trial for treasonable felony had through his counsel, Chuks Muoma on April 5, applied for a halt in the trial pending the hearing and determination of the appeal challenging the ruling of the court delivered on March 7, where it granted the request of the Federal Government to shield its witnesses.

DAILY POST recalls that Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja had on March 7 granted the application of the Federal Government to shield its witnesses who will be testifying in the ongoing trial of the IPOB leader.

The prosecution had informed the court that government witnesses were being threatened by associates of the embattled IPOB leader, stressing that they will only testify if their safety was guaranteed.

Justice Tsoho had adjourned the matter till today for ruling on stay of proceeding.
