The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has alleged that the state governor, Ben Ayade is planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC, reports Daily Trust.
Acting Chairman of the APC in the state, John Ochala who disclosed Ayade’s plan, said the governor has been speaking with key APC stalwarts in the state and at national level to clear way for him to leave the PDP and join the APC.
He revealed that the governor has spoken with APC leaders more than five times about his intention to decamp from PDP to APC.
He said, what is however, delaying Ayade’s defection is the condition the governor has set.
He stated that the governor has demanded that all the party structures in the state be handed over to him
Ayade, has, however, denied that he is planning to dump the PDP for the APC.
Ayade, through his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Ita said he has no reason to leave the PDP for any party.
